Pittsburgh Child Support Lawyer
The experienced, caring family law firm of Iwanyshyn & Associates has more than 20 years of experience in representing the rights and interests of business owners and dependent spouses in matters of child support, spousal support and alimony "pendente lite" ("in the interim").
We use the same software that Pennsylvania courts do in order to give our clients a fast and immediate estimate of what monthly child support amounts might be. This facet of our unique approach to family law saves time and money, especially the costs of attending hearings when a case can otherwise be settled without the expense of litigation.
The quality of your child support arrangements, postdivorce decree modifications and fairness in spousal support are all important to us. Contact us today by phone, fax or e-mail to schedule an initial consultation.
Our Unique Approach to Family Law
At Iwanyshyn & Associates, we pride ourselves on our consistent availability to our clients and our knowledge of all aspects of child and spousal support matters. Our attorneys work with mandated formulas for determining support: those adjusted by costs of schooling and lifestyle expenses, as well as exceptions to the rules which are argued before a judge.
We also know the roles of hearing officers and can eloquently speak for you in special situations, such as when alimony is not dischargeable in bankruptcy. You can depend on our intense client focus and legal knowledge to achieve desired results.
We Take All Cases Personally
Our law firm's child support and spousal maintenance representation ideally features the best blend of support guidelines and your family's unique personal needs. We bring proven accounting skills to the task of weighing time, income and a variety of other factors.
Just as state guidelines can change, agreements on child support can change over time too. For this reason, we monitor alterations in the working and living conditions of both parents. Any plan you enter into, with our guidance, should be one that is flexible but workable. We do not want your child's health care and educational expense needs to suffer from an unfair support settlement.
The experienced family lawyers of Iwanyshyn & Associates are here to help in any way we can. It is a personal commitment to you that has lasted more than two decades. Be in touch with our suburban Pittsburgh law offices today.
Taxation Issues
Federal law provides that alimony and alimony pendant elite (APL) is usually treated as income for the spouse receiving support. Further, the spouse paying support will be allowed to deduct any payments of support. Child support is not deductible, and is not treated as income by the recipient of support. The attorneys of Iwanyshyn & Associates are well-versed in the tax implications of child support and spousal support.
